Wall Paint, Vinyl & Wallpaper Guidelines

Walls may be customized with paint, low-tack vinyl, or removable wallpaper, subject to Parasol approval.

Vinyl & Wallpaper

• All installations must be approved by the Parasol Production Team in advance
• Use only low-tack vinyl or removable wallpaper
• Professional installation is required to minimize wall damage
• Large/full-wall vinyl, murals, or wallpaper require a $2,000 refundable security deposit. This deposit will be returned in full after checkout if the walls are restored properly and no damage is found.
• All materials and adhesive residue must be completely removed at checkout

Painting

Painting must be handled through Parasol’s painting team. Contact Production with the areas and colors you have in mind for pricing.

For artist murals or specialty painting, outside artists may be permitted with prior approval. Please send a mockup and proposed method in advance. All surrounding surfaces must be protected, and spray paint and textured paints are not permitted. At the end of your pop-up, Parasol must be hired to repaint all painted walls back to white.

Exterior Restrictions

Exterior painting is not permitted at 188 Lafayette, 262 Mott, or 22 Wooster.

Exterior vinyl is permitted at 262 Mott with approved low-tack material, but not at 188 Lafayette or 22 Wooster due to landmark district restrictions.

Wall Damage

Minor scratches and standard nail/screw holes can generally be patched. Peeling, adhesive damage, oversized holes, or extensive damage requiring skim coating or other restoration will be charged separately and may be deducted from the security deposit.
